The Cook County Visitors Bureau is an organization funded by lodging tax revenue and contains the Grand Marais Area Tourism Association, the Lutsen Tofte Tourism Association, and the Gunflint Trail Association.

Gunflint Trail Events is a non-profit corporation that currently promotes two separate events on the Gunflint Trail in order to promote tourism and improve the economy of Cook County.  Mush for a Cure is a sled dog event that spotlights the sport of mushing and raises funds for breast cancer. The Ham Run Half-Marathon encourages healthy lifestyles and the eco-friendly sustainable activities available on the Gunflint Trail.

The Gunflint Trail Scenic Byway Committee is committed to the enhancement and preservation of the Gunflint Trail.  We organize the spring clean-up of the ditches along the Trail, summer clean-up at the picnic spots and other projects as they arise.  We also work with the local agencies on policies that may affect the experience of travelers on the Gunflint Trail.
